
Our Story
Dr. Maryam Yavari, MD, Ph.D., ND, is an experienced healthcare practitioner with a unique background that bridges Traditional Humoral Medicine, conventional family medicine, and evidence-based naturopathic care. After earning her medical degree and practicing as a family physician, she completed a Ph.D. in integrative medicine to further her passion for combining the best of both traditional and modern healing systems.
She went on to earn her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), where she also completed a two-year clinical residency. Dr. Yavari is a licensed naturopathic doctor with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and an active member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). Her academic journey led her to serve as an assistant professor, and later she continued to teach as a faculty member at CCNM and the University of Toronto.
Dr. Yavari has contributed extensively to clinical research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications, books, and scientific awards. She is actively involved in the academic and research community through leadership roles, including positions on the board of directors and communications committee of the ISCMR (International Society for Complementary Medicine Research), the board of directors of INCAM (Interdisciplinary Network for Complementary & Alternative Medicine Research), and as Canadian co-chair of the NAPCRG (North American Primary Care Research Group).
Her clinical approach is rooted in integrative, patient-centered care, with a focus on prevention and lifestyle medicine. Dr. Yavari’s areas of interest include women’s health, metabolic health, thyroid and digestive disorders, neurocognitive conditions, and neuro-acupuncture. She is deeply committed to culturally responsive care and tailors each treatment plan to support the individual needs and goals of her patients.
